The Contents Of The Global Knife Set

By Mickey Crosby

There are three types of blade edges that are in your global knife set. The first is the wavy-serrated edge. It is thinner than an ordinary blade and the edge allows you to exert more pressure.

Then theres the straight edge blade that is quite common to find in many homes. It is perfect for cutting meat, fish or chicken. It can be perfected by sharpening for clean and accurate cuts. Finally, the grant-on edge has hollowed grooves that are ultimate for cutting meats without damaging it.

Another type of blade that can be found in these amazingly well packaged products. Is a paring blade. Paring knives are small and from 3 to 4 inches in length. There are different paring knives that serve different functions like; the sheeps foundation which has a straight blade that is used for peeling vegetables.

Then, there is the birds beak that is slightly curved which is also used for peeling vegetables. Lastly, the clip point paring blade as the name suggests is used to clip off eyes from potatoes and pits from olives. Paring knives are so popular because its small size allows for better control when working.

A sandwich blade also known as a utility blade ranges in size from 4 to 7 inches. The blades small size makes the paring blade easy to maneuver. It falls between a paring blade and chefs blade in size. A utility blade is ideal for heterogeneous uses but also for cutting sandwich ingredients.

There are many other types of knives like the bread blade. It has a serrated edge that helps cut through thick crust without crumbling the bread. There is also the cleaver blade. It is not appropriate for regular cutting due to its immense size. Instead, it is perfect for chopping chunks of meat and as a prop for horror movies.

There are many more knives that can be found in your global knife set. There is the cleaver which is appropriate for cutting and chopping meat, or even things which were frosted. A bread blade is ideal for cutting through bread. Lastly, the Santoku blade is similar to the chefs blade. Although it has a thinner spine making it better for cutting thin cuts for vegetables, it does not offer the same quality as the other ones found in the package.
