When it comes to buying presents, I find there are many more fun gifts for guys than there are for girls. Maybe it is just easier to buy for my male friends than it is for my female friends. Even though I am a female myself.
I have no trouble finding gifts for guys when I go shopping. Guys can be pretty simple actually. They like electronic gadgets and games. These things are everywhere you look. If you are not sure what they do or don't have along those lines, get them some type of chauvinistic t-shirt or something about beer or farts. As I said, guys are simple.
The only trouble I have with buying gifts for guys is not going overboard. I will see a t-shirt, and then a silly hat and then find a book that gives cheats to their favorite video game all for one guy. I just wanted to get him one gift to let him know I care about him as a friend not break the bank.
Why can't a guy come up with something that is a bit on the personal side and not cost more money than you plan on spending on everyone all together? I do not want to get them all baseball hats, but certainly am not buying a new transmission for their care either.
The biggest problem is that they buy the things they want. They do not wait until someone gets it for them even if it is a week before their birthday. I have bought many video games after waiting in line the day it released to find out they had preordered it and gotten it shipped.

Find something you know he likes and get him something that goes with it. If he reads a lot, get him a book you know he does not have, it could even be something he read but does not own.

This means you will have to pay attention to the little things he talks about. If he is always talking about a certain movie get him something that goes with the meaning behind the movie but not just about the movie itself.

If you cannot come up with anything, give him time. Either more time with you doing something you like to do together, or a night out with the guys.
