There are a lot of various ways to compete for a promotion, perhaps the most common is to brown-nose your way up, but since this is not my thing, I came up with a plan that involved a wine rack. The reason that I chose to base my plan around a wine holder was that I found out one day that my boss happened to share my enthusiasm for fine wines. I enjoy good wines, but I had never been much of a collector until I knew that there was a promotion up for grabs and I wanted my boss to come over for a wine tasting, during which she would see my new hanging wine rack.
The only thing though, was that I didn't know where to begin looking for such a thing, but my girlfriend just told me not to stress about it. The next day, I went off to work as normal, wondering what she had meant, and I figured that she must have found a store that sold these wine racks, but I was not prepared for what I saw when I got home that night.
There in front of my eyes was something far more than just a standard wine rack, rather it was something much, much cooler: a wine rack actually made from old wine barrels, which was attractive to me because I love not just wine, but the history of the wine making process. I was also in for additional surprises as she had also gotten some wine decanters that complemented the design of the rack wonderfully.
Now that I had gotten all of the supplies I needed, I was ready to buy some bottles of wine for the wine tasting, which was a lot of fun for me and really tested my knowledge of wine. I made my purchases and when everything was in place, I sent out the invitations and was very pleased when my boss accepted.
Well, I have to say, the wine tasting was a complete success, and my boss told me how much she adored all of my wine accessories, and said that she had a similar design on her wine rack table and wall mounted wine racks. I knew that the party had been a huge success when I received some wine gifts as a thank you from my boss, including a wine aerator that was a perfect fit for the rest of my collection, which was almost as good as the promotion I got only a week later!
