Anti-Aging: A Possibility?

By Ken Godberson

As much as we try to avoid it, but everybody dies. We all age and will eventually expire and there is no avoiding it. No fountain of youth. No elixir of life. Regardless of this inevitability, you don't have to look or feel like you are growing old. There are several techniques you can utilize, ranging from healthy food, proper exercise, and even certain skincare products that can help in the anti-aging process.

We are told over and over that we need to eat healthy food and maintain proper nutrition. Do you know why? It's because the people saying so are right. Certain foods contain a variety of positive chemicals that help in the anti-aging process. Even if they are just snack foods like nuts (such as almonds and pistachios that contain Vitamin E and omega 3 fatty acids that help protect the skin and delay skin aging), berries (major source of antioxidants) or a cup of green tea (contains polyphenols that help fight and repair free radical damage) instead of having something fatty or sugary can help.

Proper exercise, both physical and mental, also aids to the anti-aging process. Through regular exercise (at least three or four times a week), you can strengthen muscle, increase blood circulation and boost metabolism. However, it is best not to overdue exercise, lest you burn yourself out. Keeping yourself mentally sharp, through activities such as crossword puzzles or Sudoku, is also recommended.

Now let us take a look at products you can use to help promote anti-aging in your skin. Through the use of certain anti-aging products, you can protect your skin from many of environmental causes of damage, the greatest one being ultraviolet rays from the sun. However, it is recommended that you consult with a dermatologist when deciding on any lotions or creams. Everyone has a different kind of skin, whether dry, oily, or sensitive. A dermatologist can help narrow your decisions.

It is inevitable that we succumb to age. However, our looks and how we feel does not have to. Through healthy nutrition, a decent amount of exercise and proper skin care products, you can feel much younger than you really are.
