The Comfort And Quality Of Dansko Shoes

By Sarah L. Foote

Dansko shoes were first inspired by Danish clogs. The original designers came upon a pair while on an overseas trip and found that they were particularly comfortable. Since their initial creation, they have undergone a number of important technical advances that have improved their comfort dramatically. They're now available in fashionable styles such as Mary Janes and sandals as well as options for children and men.

There are certain ranges that cater for those with particularly wide or narrow feet. Others are made to allow for their wear with orthotics. Those with medical problems that lead to the need for two different sizes are also catered for through specific channels.

Danko's shock absorption is the equivalent of athletic shoes. This is an important element because it keeps the spine and joints healthy and free of pain. They provide a stable stance to prevent ankle rolling.

There are many different styles within this brand. The styling has improved substantially over the years so that more fashionable designs can be purchased with the same iconic shape that the original Danish clogs show through a curved heel and round toe. They have wider heels that are more pronounced than ordinary shoes to allow for improved comfort.

There are sizes for every type. Petite and tall people will find their sizes. Suppliers who are approved also give a guarantee on manufacturing defects. If these are reported in good time and are not caused by undue wear and tear, a refund or exchange will be given.

The majority of the brand's styles are made from various kinds of genuine leather but recently ranges made without it have been added. The American Podiatric Medical Association has assessed the product rigorously. It has been approved as being healthy for feet.

Slip resistance meets ASTM and SATRA standards in some ranges. The brand doesn't recommend resoling degenerated Danskos. It's preferable to purchase a new pair when the previous one has been through too much wear. The ranges have a remarkably diverse number of leathers including metallic, patent, nubuck and Arabesque.

Each leather has its own care method. Oiled nubuck is one that needs to be taken care of especially well. To ensure that the shoe stays looking new through daily wear, scuffs can be removed with a damp cloth and leather cream. The latter also keeps the leather nourished so that it doesn't become hard or cracked.

Suede requires special care but generally lasts well, keeping its new appearance for years. It needs to be brushed regularly so that it's kept healthy and clean. A crepe bar is usually able to erase difficult marks. It's important to use a protector spray before wearing suede so that it doesn't become damaged from rain and dirt.

One leather that's especially easy to care for is patent leather. It's covered with a polycoat finish that protects it and makes it shine. All that's required is a gentle wipe with a damp cloth.

This year's range includes trendy Mary Janes, ankle boots and sneakers. Heels of up to two inches are a feature in some styles. When shopping for Dansko shoes for summer, there is the option of full coverage styles or strappy styles.
